At Inteka, we understand that your home should be your haven, away from the stresses of work and a space for you to relax and spend time with friends and family. We also know that having any type of building work done at home can be a taxing, so our expert installations teams aim to minimise the disruption during this process.

This includes having respect for your home and its existing decoration, arriving punctually at a time we both agree and ensuring your home is left as clean and tidy as we found it. If the project is due to last more than one day, we’ll ensure all cleaning is done at the end of every day, so you can enjoy your home each evening.

Whilst it helps if the room is left relatively clear and free of ornaments, giving our team more space to work, we are happy to cover any unwieldy items and will protect all necessary flooring to keep your home pristine.

As the vast majority of the preparation work is done in our workshop, we have no need to carry out extensive cutting or drilling in your home, further minimising any disruption to you. However, as your built-in furniture is designed to fit your home exactly, some minor cutting and scribing may need to be completed on-site. We are used to installing bespoke furniture to homes with irregular walls, floors and ceilings, which have naturally moved slightly with age. All our furniture is perfectly designed and positioned for a seamless fit.

THE PAINTING

If you choose a hand painted finish for your built-in furniture then this will be done after installation is complete. We also prefer to use a water-based eggshell paint from the Farrow & Ball range as it dries quickly, lacks any offensive smell and is environmentally friendly. However, we are happy to work with another paint manufacturer or base type of your choice.

In applying four coats of paint, we give your new furniture the most even finish and strongest surface protection but would advise that you leave the painted surfaces to dry completely for about a week before starting to use it.
